Paul Harris Fellowship recognition was created in memory of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary as a way of showing appreciation for contributions to the charitable and educational programs. A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who contributes $1,000 in whose name that amount is contributed. Each Paul Harris Fellow receives a pin, medallion and a certificate when he or she becomes a Fellow. This identified the Paul Harris Fellow as an advocate of the Foundation's goals of world peace and international understanding.
It has been a practice of many clubs to award Paul Harris Fellowship to select members in appreciation of his or her service to the club.
A substaining member is an individual who contributes or in whose name it is contrbuted a minimum of $100 with the committment to contribute $1000 within a ten-year period.
